Aptrix / LWWCM Consultancy...

Pete Raleigh has an extensive knowledge of Aptrix/LWWCM

Knowledge

I have a vast knowledge and experience of IBM Web Content Management (LWWCM) - formally known as Aptrix Content Server. I'm a specialist in it's installation, configuration, development, features and functionality. I can even customise 1 Aptrix / LWWCM to suit your requirements.

I have installed IBM Web Content Management in many different environments and on many different servers. I know how to setup it up quickly and maintain it efficiently to save you money.

If you are having problems or would like advice on the Best Practices for:

  • Component and WebPage Master/Copy Sharing
  • Configuring Multiple Publishing databases
  • Enabling and Configuring Agents (and on which Environments)
  • Personalisation without impacting Performance
  • Improving performance with/without Caching
  • MS-Word Web Publishing Templates
  • Web Publishing
  • Workflows and Workflow Stages
  • Integrating the SiteFramework with DHTML Dropdowns
  • Single-click Editing of Published Documents
  • Migration of existing HTML Pages into Aptrix
  • Multi-lingual content
  • Replication / Syndication of Aptrix databases
  • Profiling your content efficiently - correct use of Document Types / Categories
  • Designing Page Layouts / Page Designs for optimum performance

or any other information, I can help your company.

I'm one of the best IBM (Lotus) Workplace Web Content Management consultants there are - afterall I used to work as a technical consultant for the makers of Aptrix! And I'm still using it.

Benefits

I have developed my own set of best practices and add-on features that you can benefit from. Without giving too much away... here's just a sample...

Analysis

I can perform analysis of your existing website and recommend how to improve it. I have been involved in several redesigns of web sites - my extensive web development skills include expert knowledge of the following technologies:

  • Aptrix Content Server 3.x/4.x and LWWCM 1.x/2.0 2
  • Aptrix Connect 2.x
  • HTML - including hand coding
  • JavaScript - including advanced dynamic-HTML (DHTML)
  • Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • XML / XHTML
  • Lotus Notes (Lotusscript)
  • Lotus Notes (Formula)
  • Java (J2EE)
  • ASP / VBScript
  • CGI / Perl

Searching 3

I have re-written the searching Agent in LWWCM to provide a more thorough searching facility. It not only searches the display title and body, but also the attachments, the document title, across multiple databases, between dates and returns the results in ascending or descending order with a single click. And it's fast!

XML Feeds

If you are looking to implement a newsfeed or integrate an existing one into Aptrix then I can help. Using some of the built in (but undocumented) features of Aptrix, I have successfully installed newsfeeds seemlessly into Aptrix for several clients.

Maintenance

Many of the agents running on LWWCM produce log files for administrative purposes. Unfortunately, if these are left unchecked, they can slow performance. My cleanup routines ensure that your installation remains as fast as possible.

Agents / Tools

I have written multiple agents and tools for the:

  • renaming of Shared SiteAreas
  • renaming of Shared Components
  • updating of Templates
  • removal of unnecessary images - from Word Upload / Conversion

Migration 3

I've also created a tool for migrating your old (legacy) content into Aptrix. If you have content stored in ASP files or flat HTML files, I can even migrate these into Aptrix automatically.

1 - customisations of the Design of Aptrix / LWWCM may void your Support agreement with IBM

2 - both for Lotus Notes R5/R6 and J2EE (including WebSphere) platforms

3 - for Domino R5/R6. A J2EE version is currently under developement
